Loriana Castellano - mezzo
Winner of the A. Belli Competition 2010 in Spoleto and Toti dal Monte Competition in Treviso in 2012, she studied the Baroque repertoire with Edward Smith and Sara Mingardo at the Cappella della Pietà dai Turchini in Naples. Among her recent performances: Handel’s Alcina (Bradamante) with Le Parlement de Musique de Strasbourg and Martin Gester; Myslivecek’s Medonte with L’Arte del Mondo and Werner Ehrhardt (recorded for Sony/DHM); Vivaldi’s Juditha Triumphans in Braunschweig and Beaune with Modo Antiquo and Federico Maria Sardelli; Stravinsky’s Pulcinella with the Netherlands Radio Chamber Orchestra conducted by Thierry Fischer in Utrecht; Catone in Utica at the Teatro an der Wien again with Sardelli. More recently, she sang La Cenerentola (title role) in São Paulo, Il Matrimonio Segreto (Fidalma) in Treviso, Rovigo and Ferrara, La Traviata at the Opéra de Monte Carlo under Marco Armiliato, La Cambiale di Matrimonio (Clarina) in Ingolstadt, Vivaldi’s Farnace (1738) at the Teatro Comunale in Florence and La Betulia Liberata at the Wratislavia Cantans International Festival under Corrado Rovaris.
Future plans include: Battistelli’s Il Medico dei Pazzi in Nancy (world première); revivals of Il Matrimonio Segreto in Lucca and Ravenna; Don Giovanni (Zerlina) in Monte Carlo.
